Import a Script or Screenplay
2 ways to import a script
- Open up your new project and navigate to Script Breakdown.
- Click on + Import Script.
A pop-up window showing two options will open:
Option 1: Import Final Draft (.fdx) -RECOMMENDED
Option 2: Add Individual Scenes
Option 1: Import Final Draft (.fdx)
- Select: Import Final Draft (.fdx) – RECOMMEND and type in the on the line below the title of the script or screenplay. Click Next to continue.
- Find the Final Draft file on your device and drag and drop it in the window OR click on +Add File and navigate to the file on your device.
- the selected script or screenplay will be loaded in the pop-up window.
- Click the Upload button.
- The upload process will start.
- Note: This can take up to 2 minutes, depending on the length and speed of your internet connection.
- After the script or screenplay is uploaded, it will automatically show on the screen to start the script breakdown.
Option 2: Add Individual Scenes
This option is ideal for scripts in word (.doc) format or other text format and require to copy paste individual scenes in MoviePrepper.
Or for adding short descriptions of scenes to breakdown music videos, corporate videos, or other video productions which don’t require or use detailed scripts or screenplays.
- Select: Add Individual Scenes and on the line below type in the title of the script or screenply, and choose a draft version.
- Next, click Create Blank Script to continue.
- A blank script will be created and you can now add individual scenes to the blank script.
